Nick Clegg defends candidate who makes no mention of Lib Dems on leaflet
Nick Clegg is at a tyre company in Chippenham where he is being forced to explain why his candidate there – Duncan Hames – makes no mention of the Lib Dems, or the Lib Dem leader, on his campaign literature.
Seperately the Liberal Democrat joked that the “wheels are coming off” Labour’s non-dom ban. He says that “in pursuing headlines they forgot that we need an open economy.” Mr Clegg also suggested that some non-doms are “not massively rich”.
Meanwhile his wife, Miriam, a high profile lawyer and campaigner in her own right, is meeting with a project which tries to steer girls away from a life in gangs. She is with Lynne Featherstone, the Liberal Democrat Home Office minister in Turnpike Lane, London.
