Tim Bouverie, our political producer, sends an update from Sutton where George Osborne is visiting a sports shop.
“The Chancellor has been in what purports to be the oldest bike shop in Britain for at least 40 minutes and is yet to put on a high-viz jacket, which is very out of character.
“There are high-viz jackets on shelves for sale so the temptation to don one must be reaching it maximum.”
He adds that it is notable Mr Osborne is campaigning in a Liberal Democrat seat. Conservatives carrying out high profile crusades into Lib Dem areas has been a feature of the campaign so far.
Tim also suggests that the mug placement in Sutton can not be an accident.
