Ukip’s new poster star is unsure if he’s backing Farage
The fisherman Ukip have chosen to star in their latest campaign poster on EU influence in the fishing industry is yet to decide who he’ll vote for.
Tony Rutherford, 59, is managing director of Bideford Fisheries in Devon. He’s the face of the party’s new poster highlighting the impact of EU laws on coastal communities has told Buzzfeed he may not vote Ukip.
He told the website he got involved in UKIP’s campaign to “try and push the cause to get control of our fishing rights” but went on to praise the work of the local Conservative MP, Geoffrey Cox.
In fact he said MPs from all angles are fighting for the industry.
