Ed Miliband is speaking
Mr Miliband says that “building this country” will not be “instant or easy” and has demanded change “change from us” in the past and will do again. He says seeing it through “requires new and different leadership”. He says the start of his manifesto is “different from those that have gone before, it doesn’t do what most manifestos do. It doesn’t offer a list of promises, a shipping list of proposals.” Instead, he says, it “seeks to answer the questions you are answering.” “You want labour policies… but you ask if we can be responsible with our nations finances. This is the key point that Ed Miliband wants to campaign on: That Labour can be disciplined, that he can be trusted with the economy. In contrast he says Conservative promises are “unfunded, unfair and unbelievable”.
