Labour encroaches on Margaret Thatcher’s old haunt

We’re in Finchley this afternoon filming in Margaret Thatcher’s old constituency, writes Channel 4 News producer Tim Bouverie.

It’s only 89th on Labour’s target list, but a poll from tory peer Lord Ashcroft the other day had Labour one point clear of the Conservatives here.

With one of London’s largest Jewish populations, the Jewish vote is all important, and the Conservatives claim that this element remains in their favour not least because of Ed Miliband’s strong support for the recognition of a Palestinian state.
