Polls show even Lib Dem collapse is not helping Labour in Scotland
The latest round of Scottish constituency polling from Lord Ashcroft underscores the scale of the problem facing Scottish Labour.
They trail the SNP in two more seats. This time in the east side of the central belt. Worryingly for Labour both are seats in which they traditionally had to fight off the Liberal Democrats.
In Edinburgh South Ian Murray won by 316 votes in 2010. Mr Murray is now trailing the SNP candidate by 3 points. In Edinburgh North and Leith the SNP have opened up a huge 14 point lead.
The figures come with added significance as the Edinburgh region voted NO in last year’s referendum but that doesn’t seem to have halted the rise of the SNP in these parts.
