250,000 ballot papers have in fact gone missing in East Sussex, covering TWO seats – Eastbourne, and Hastings and Rye, as well as ballot papers for the local elections in Eastbourne.  A printers’ van carrying the papers has been stolen.

The council say they will print new ballot papers on coloured paper, to distinguish them from the ballot papers which have gone missing.

The East Sussex printers' van appears to have been stolen somewhere between printers in Dagenham and Sussex border. Tower Hamlets maybe?

I'm told police think East Sussex printers' van was not stolen in order to steal ballot papers – they just happened to be inside
