Weather ‘won’t keep voters away’ on polling day
Fine weather is expected to bless polling day tomorrow, giving people little reason to hold off from voting with the worst of the rain likely to abate.
John Curtice, professor of politics at Strathclyde University, said: “In the absence of a major storm of the kind that disrupts traffic and therefore people don’t get home by 10 o’clock in the evening, it doesn’t make a difference.
“We live in a country where a bit of drizzle is commonplace.”
Dry and sunny spells are forecast to replace the wet and windy conditions experienced earlier this week.
The Met Office’s Marco Petagna said: “There should be nothing to keep voters away.
“Away from the north east we can’t rule out an isolated shower, but it looks like being dry with sunny spells at times.”
