Britain's political leaders today began a final push for votes ahead of Thursday's knife-edge election, even as they prepared for the likelihood of protracted coalition talks once polls close. David Cameron as also quizzed on Boris Johnson’s Ajockalypse Now comments which he made in the Sunday Times this weekend.

The Mayor of London, and Conservative candidate, said: “It’s Ajockalypse Now. People are looking at Ed Miliband and they’re getting bad visuals of him popping out of Alex Salmond’s sporran like a baffled baby kangaroo.

David Cameron appeared to distance himself from the comments, although not that much: “Boris is Boris and he has a colourful way of expressing himself … Boris like me is a passionate believer in the United Kingdom … That’s not my language, that is Boris’s language.”
