  • Anti-racism campaigner claims he was punched by Ukip supporter

    Ukip have said they condemn violence of any kind after a campaigner says he was punched in the face minutes by a man who appeared to be one of the party’s supporters.

    He was protesting Nigel Farage’s visit to Margate. The incident has been reported to the police.

    Ten minutes after confronting Nigel Farage a UKIP supporter flying flag from his car pulled over and punched me in the face.

    A Ukip spokesman said: “We condemn any intimidation or violence towards anybody, whether involved in this election or otherwise.”
