Sir Tony appeared on LBC a day before the election and the Labour supporter laughed off claims the limestone monument of the party’s key pledges would come to be seen as a big mistake, saying it was just “daft”.
He said: “Every leader at every election does at least a dozen daft things, and it doesn’t change the peoples’ minds at all.
“People know that’s just part of the razmatazz of the election. Its like the Tories suddenly promising out of nowhere that they would dedicate an extra £12bn to the NHS. It’s just stupid!
