Houghton Sunderland South it’s a Labour hold for Bridget Phillipson, with Ukip in second place and Lib Dems in 5th with just 791 votes.

Meanwhile a Labour source said of the exit poll: “We are sceptical of the BBC poll. It looks wrong to us.”
