David Blunkett: This is a very, very bad night for us
Labour’s former Home Secretary says that this is going to be a “very, very bad night for us” with many candidates in Scotland swept away by a “tsunami” of support for the SNP.
Looking cowed and genuinely upset he says that the party must not retreat into a bunker and instead must “examine” the results very carefully indeed”.
He adds that his greatest fear now is that the Conservatives could “nudge over” into majority.
He tells Sky News the only small comfort is that it will be a very different House of Commons without the solid majority the last coalition commanded.
