Riot police arrest 17 after scuffles at anti-austerity protest

Angry protests were held outside Downing Street as several hundred anti-austerity protesters gathered against the government.

Police said that the majority had been protesting peacefully, but a small minority was intent on causing disorder.

Seventeen people were arrested and four police officers injured.
