Ros Altmann made pensions minister
Ros Altmann worked closely with former pensions minister Steve Webb throughout the last Government.
Ms Altmann has been the government’s older workers business champion since July 2014. It was reported that Mr Cameron and George Osborne had suggested she might take over Mr Webb’s job after he lost his seat on Thursday.
It has been reported that she would turn this down as she felt Mr Webb had already brought through many of the reforms and thought she could do more as a consumer protection minister.
However Mr Cameron has tweeted that the role she has accepted is that role she has accepted is that of pensions minister. He also spelled her name wrong in the announcement.
She will also be elevated to the house of lords to enable her to take up the position.
