Labour made headlines with today’s election pledge to scrap the ‘non dom’ tax status which basically allows a few very rich people to avoid paying tax on earnings overseas.
There’s a row about whether Ed Balls said back in January that abolishing the system entirely would cost Britain money. He says he didn’t – the Tories said he did.
